Home Projects Sponser a Child
|
Children are the innocent victims of wars and political unrest in a country. Lebanon is in turmoil and the economical situation is deteriorating day after day. Families are getting poorer and poorer and children are suffering. The Rotary Club of Aley, Lebanon, with the help of “The Troy Rotary Foundation, Michigan, USA”, and several Rotaract Clubs have decided to launch “Sponsor a Child Program”. Hundreds of children from all over Lebanon, representing all religions and sects will be chosen to participate in that program. The criteria being that the child has to come from a very poor family and is in urgent need of help.
Thanks to many Tax deductible donations that came in, many children are able now to go to school and eat a healthy meal. Many more little needy children are still waiting for a helping hand. For as little as $25 per month, a tax deductible donation, you or someone you know will change the life of a little boy or girl.
For the ones that can’t help at this moment, I ask you in the name of these children to forward this mail to everyone you know. Perhaps someone is looking for a way to help. $25 will supply the child with healthy snacks all months, $50 a month will pay for public school, $100 a month will pay for food, school and clothing or medical attention. $25 in many countries would be equivalent to a cab ride and $100 to a meal at a restaurant but for these poor children it could be equivalent to a chance in life or even life itself.
Our club will send the sponsors letters and pictures as quarterly update on the child’s condition.
Update
Burger King sponsored our first gathering on Satuday March 10th. 30 Children were happy to meet each other and celebrate the launching of "Sponsor a Child" .
